Coaching for personal growth & development

What is Coaching?

Coaching, as defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), is a professional partnership between a coach and a client that inspires the client to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching is a process that helps individuals set and achieve goals, gain self-awareness, and make positive changes in their lives.

Coaching is always is built on a foundation of trust, confidentiality, and non-judgment. It is a client-focused process that is tailored to the individual needs and goals of the client.

What can coaching be used for?

Coaching can be used for personal development and growth in a wide variety of areas. Here are some examples:

  • Goal Setting: A coach can help you identify and set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals that align with your values and vision for the future.

  • Self-Awareness: A coach can help you gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, weaknesses, values, and beliefs, and use this knowledge to make more informed decisions and take purposeful action.

  • Emotional Intelligence: A coach can help you develop emotional intelligence skills such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills, which can enhance your interpersonal relationships, communication, and decision-making abilities.

  • Mindset and Habits: A coach can help you cultivate a growth mindset, develop positive habits, and break negative patterns that may be holding you back from achieving your goals.

  • Time Management: A coach can help you prioritize your tasks, manage your time effectively, and achieve a better work-life balance.

  • Career Development: A coach can help you identify your career goals, strengths, and skills, and create a plan of action to achieve your desired career outcomes.

  • Life Transitions: A coach can provide guidance and support as you navigate life transitions such as a career change, divorce, or retirement, helping you to find clarity, purpose, and direction during these times of change.

  • Communication Skills: A coach can help you develop effective communication skills, including active listening, non-verbal communication, and assertiveness, which can enhance your ability to connect with others and build stronger relationships.

  • Conflict Resolution: A coach can provide you with tools and strategies to resolve conflicts and disagreements in a healthy and constructive manner, which can improve your relationships and prevent them from deteriorating.

  • Emotional Intelligence: A coach can help you develop emotional intelligence skills, such as empathy and social awareness, which can improve your ability to understand and relate to others, leading to stronger relationships.

You can pick a specific area or a mixture of a few to work on during the time of your coaching period.

Meet Your Coach Elena Mosaner, MS, PCC

I have been coaching for close to 20 years and enjoy seeing my clients make progress.

My coaching approach is unique in that I have a background in hypnotherapy and conflict resolution, and I like to incorporate some of its tools into my coaching sessions. While I will largely adhere to the classical ICF-style coaching, which involves challenging you for new thoughts and actions and supporting you for new behaviors, I will not teach, advise, or mentor you. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your life and hold all the answers and insights from within. I use Socratic inquiry and appreciative coaching to help you access your inner wisdom and guidance.

And I will provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I will also hold you accountable for your commitments and progress, and provide feedback and guidance to help you overcome any challenges or obstacles you may face.

Throughout our coaching journey, I will uphold the ethical standards and principles of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and work in partnership with you to help you unlock your full potential and live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

How does the process of coaching work?

The coaching process typically involves a minimum commitment of 3 months, during which we will meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for one-hour coaching sessions. These sessions will be focused on your personal and professional development, and will be tailored to your specific needs and goals.

During the coaching sessions, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and work together to gain self-awareness and clarity about your situation. Together, we will identify your strengths, weaknesses, and priorities, and develop a plan of action to help you achieve your goals.

In between coaching sessions, you may be given assignments or exercises to complete, which will help you to deepen your insights and apply the strategies and techniques we discuss during our sessions. These assignments will be generated by you based on the insights and knowledge gained from the coaching sessions.

Some coaching sessions may end with a guided meditation, which can help you to integrate the insights and knowledge gained from the coaching session, and to connect with your inner wisdom and intuition. This can help you to feel more grounded and centered, and to apply the strategies and techniques we discuss during our sessions in a more intentional and effective way. You will get a recording of you custom designed 1o- minute meditation audio, so you can listen to it between sessions.
