A stressful event can trigger a rising of hormones such as adrenaline or cortisol, caused by the natural fight-or-flight response. A minor stress can keep you on your toes or even make you more productive and focused. However, a prolonged chronic stress can cause detrimental effects on your health, both mind and body.

Regular Meditation practice or self-hypnosis are powerful tools to help you keep your mental balance. When you meditate regularly, your body naturally releases endorphins, chemicals responsible for a happy mood.
There are four known brain waves cycles, which measure the ionic flow within the neurons in the brain.These brain wave cycles are are Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta. Alpha and Theta are the brain waves cycles that happen during meditation and deep relaxation. Mental states with alpha or theta brain wave activity are generally very positive states of mind. You feel calm and relaxed. It becomes easier to think, access memories, find solutions to problems and make better wiser decisions. You become more resourceful and begin to see a better and bigger picture of your life situations. During such states your mind is no longer cluttered with negative thoughts, you are detached from doubts, judgments or any fear-based emotions.
Regular exercise is a wonderful way to keep a physical balance and health. When you exercise regularly your body also releases endorphins, making you feel more energetic physically and over-all excited.
