Elena developed an interest in hypnosis when she was five years old after seeing a stage hypnotist in Russia. She was mesmerized by the performance and always wanted to understand how hypnosis worked.
One day, after Elena moved to New York, she used hypnosis for goal setting and success motivation. It worked wonders. She decided to study hypnosis in depth. Hypnosis helped her see her goals clearly, gain more confidence. The direction towards these goals became more apparent and believable. She also finally deciphered the "magic" behind hypnosis which had been in the back of her mind since childhood. The formula of hypnosis was simpler than she ever thought.
Elena continued taking courses in hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and decided to become a practitioner to help others achieve their goals with the power of the mind.
Elena is an NGH (National Guild of Hypnotists) Certified Hypnotist and a Master NLP Practitioner. She has studied with some of the top instructors in the US: Dr. George Bien at the Mind and Body Research Institute, Mark Cunningham at the Society of Applied Hypnosis, Steve Leeds and Dr. Rachel Hott at the NLP Center of New York. Elena works at the Advanced Hypnosis Center and also receives referrals from leading doctors in New York.
Elena is also a writer and filmmaker. She received a Bachelor's degree in Science from the New School University with a focus on writing and film production. She believes that hypnosis and film have a lot in common: both work with imagination, spread knowledge, new ideas and have a tremendous capacity to shift perceptions, affect emotions and influence.
Elena has written, directed and produced a documentary film Zaritsas: Russian Women in New York (2010). It was co-produced with actor Vincent D'Onofrio (Law & Order, Men in Black, The Cell) and Erika Hampson (The Tenants, Oscar winner 2010.) Zaritsas: Russian Women in New York explores the stereotypes of Russian women in America which emerged in the 1990s. Beloff examines how, why and when these perceptions of Russian women developed, as she takes the audience into the journey of the six women in film, including herself.
Elena's new documentary film HypnoNation is currently in production. In the film Elena examines the stereotypes of hypnosis, its history and shows how hypnosis is actually all around us. Elena interviewed many distinguished hypnotists, NLP Practitioners, neurologists and media theorists on the nature of hypnosis and how people get programmed. The film is due to be released in 2012.
There are many more exciting projects in the works. Stay tuned and don't forget to sign up for the newsletter for the upcoming events and updates on Elena's projects.
Elena's schedule is very busy these days between her creative projects and working with clients. However, she always finds time for individual hypnosis and NLP sessions, because as she says, there is nothing more rewarding than helping people find solutions to problems, gain control of their lives to lead a healthy and happy life.
